Dr. Maria Lim (Professor of Art Education) hosted the Asian Art and Culture Interest Group’s dynamic forum, Culturally Responsive Pedagogical Strategies and Practices on Teaching Asian/Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Arts and Cultures, at the 2025 National Art Education Association Annual Convention. Held in Louisville, KY, from March 20–22, the forum brought together passionate educators and advocates committed to inclusive, culturally responsive approaches to teaching AAPI arts and cultures.
As a founding member and former president of the Asian Art and Culture Interest Group (AACIG), Dr. Maria Lim played a crucial leadership role in the executive and general business meetings at the convention. Her active participation reflected her ongoing commitment to advancing art education research and pedagogical practices focused on Asian art, cultures, artists, and philosophies within global and cross-cultural perspectives. Through her advocacy and expertise, Dr. Lim continues to elevate the presence and significance of AAPI contributions in art education.
