Rachele Riley, Associate Professor of New Media and Design, has been short-listed for a Fulbright-Glasgow School of Art Distinguished Scholar Award to the United Kingdom.
Riley’s application is for the 2025–2026 award cycle, and if successful, she will create a participatory visual mapping and multimedia image series exploring water, environment, and typography in Glasgow, Scotland. Her teaching/research project will connect the UNCG School of Art with students and faculty at the Glasgow School of Art—and involve interactive design, imaging, drawing, collage, typography/lettering, and animation. Her project is informed by the artistic and design innovations of Glasgow; the language, land, and water systems of the region; the built and typographic environment; and design artifacts in city and university archives.
